and Take the 'U' out of UFO!

How to turn your piles of UFO's into finished quilts that will be loved and cherished without feeling pressured or all alone even if you tend to get easily distracted by new quilting projects or ideas or you don't seem to have time to quilt.

You're Not Alone!

Hi - I'm Jen Lee, Owner of the online quilt shop Red Thread Studio and a fellow quilter.

If you are like me, you have hundreds or maybe even thousands of dollars in fabric, thread and notions stashed in your sewing room (and closets and under beds ;).

Until recently, it was easier for me to stick my head in the sand and deny, deny, deny. Since the pandemic started, I've learned two things about myself.

First, I can do more with less or with what I already have. Why buy more quilting stuff when we can find joy again in the things we already have at home? (counter intuitive when owning a quilt shop, right?).

But second, and maybe even more exciting, is that I've realized that I absolutely LOVE helping others make progress on their quilting projects wanting them (YOU) to get the most out of your investment.

The Red Thread Connect Community is here to support you on your quilting journey.

That's what led me to start the Red Thread Connect Community where like-minded creatives could connect in a fun and inspirational way without the hassles, stress or commitments of a traditional quilt guild.

We spend a lot of time in the group getting matter your experience, no matter how many UFO's you have or what stage of completion they are that you can get clarity on the best way to tackle your list of UFO's.

We are waiting for you inside, so get ready to...

  • Find out how to harness the collective power of a community so you can gain confidence and knowledge to keep your projects moving forward when you connect with like-minded creatives who inspire, support and encourage each other every day.
  • How to organize your quilting projects using our intuitive UFO worksheets...with this approach you will never again feel like you are disorganized, overwhelmed or even struggling to know where to start.
  • Find out how to stay motivated and keep yourself accountable so that you stay on track without feeling pressured or stressed.
  • Discover ways to avoid common pitfalls that keep you from finishing your quilts:

Rediscover the joy in your projects and find out how to finish your quilts even if you lose enthusiasm 2/3 of the way through the quilting process or you are already chasing your next project or idea before you finish your current project.

How to carve out time for you to sit down and get your quilting projects done even if you work full-time or you are your own worst enemy and put family and home before yourself.

Find out how to keep your projects moving forward even when you feel overwhelmed or frustrated because you don't know what to do next or you dread tasks such as squaring up, binding or labeling your quilts.

Discover how to remain detail-oriented without the fear of imperfection which causes you to otherwise spin in place making no forward progress.

“I love the accountability which keeps me on track but it is the support, the encouragement, the sharing of ideas that makes it fun.  And seeing the work of other quilters is inspiring.  The addition of group comments gives me insight in color, texture, light/dark, fabric choice.  Sit and sew is social and ever so instructional.

Just love it all! There is nothing I dislike. The very fact that it is virtual eliminates all that I would find difficult.  No meetings to go to, no weekly projects, no elections, nothing that adds stress. It is perfect for me.”

“I like seeing the projects that everyone is working on. It is motivating me to also work on my projects and by showing someone my progress, it gives me encouragement to keep on going.

Your videos have been spot on in approaching the UFO’s.  They have been inspiring! I also like the interviews you have been doing with the different artists.  Very informative!”

Social interaction with other quilters and inspiration to work on my quilts.  I work during the day, and sometime talk myself out of sewing in the evenings (Too tired, procrastinate, etc.).  Red Thread Connect provides accountability and motivation to complete my projects.

I look forward to the Sit and Sew on Monday nights...the highlight of my "least favorite" day of the week.  I love listening to the other members talk about their projects, struggles, questions, etc.   When I started RTC, I didn't have much confidence in my quilting skills and knowledge (even though I'm a confident professional in my career). RTC has built my confidence but also don't feel bad when I ask questions.

I feel like the RTC members are my friends and they care about me, especially during a time where I feel isolated.  Jen is a wonderful facilitator and has been a huge help in answering questions and motivating me. This is the best decision I've made in my quilting journey.”
